I've never been up Oregon way. Glenda and I are thinking of coming either a day or two realy or staying a day or two afterwards to explore. Anybody else thinking of that? What is there to do? Where should we stay? Is there a group we could hang out with?

Please please stay on a day or two and visit! We love showing folk around the city and there is so much to see and do around the Pacific Northwest.

In fact we have a guest coming from Boston who is planning on flying into Seattle, then driving down, so as to see more of the beauty. We're trying to talk him into taking the train. It's a great ride! I'll poke at him to post here so you can maybe make plans to do some sightseeing together.

I think I am the one you are talking about. The plan has changed somewhat due to friends' schedules. As such I will be coming UP from the SF area via train instead of down from Seattle. It is pretty likely I will be in Seattle for work in early Sept, so figured it was not worth going back in such a short period of time.

Folks,

We decided arriving a few days early would put us in the middle of a flurry of preperations, so we decided to stay in town a couple of days afterwards. Thoughts are we'll know some of you locals by then and we'll have assembled some clues about what we'll want to do and see.

Is anyone else staying on a bit after the Ball?

My FINAL plan is to stay all day Sunday (flying home on a red eye) so a bit later, but not a whole lot. School and work simply got in the way.

Catch up to me when you check in, Barb and I can give some ideas, and maybe even particpate.
Unfortunately, I have to catch a flight out of town Sunday evening (so much for being a local).

I'm looking forward to meeting folks from afar and hanging with you on Sunday after the Ball. If you don't get there on Saturday, the Saturday Market is open Sunday, as well.
